Our Argan Oil is obtained from the seeds of Argania spinosa, a tree endemic to southwest Morocco. It is known to the Berbers living there as the “Tree of Life”. It contains 63% oleic acid (classified as a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid), 21% linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid), 9% from alpha linolenic acid (a potentially beneficial “plant omega-3 fatty acid”), and 7% saturated fatty acids. Canola oil has an oleic acid content similar to olive oil but has a higher linoleic acid and alpha linolenic acid content which enhance its conditioning and moisturizing properties.
Safflower Oil – High Linoleic acid (one of Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) that our body requires for good health but cannot produce itself) is crucial to normal barrier function in skin. It can act as an anti-inflammatory, promotes reduced acne and moisture retention. It is also high in Vitamins A, D & E, lecithin, and omega 9. Deficiencies can lead to dry skin and poor overall skin health.
Shea Butter is used for its skin protection properties. It helps moisturize intensely, leaving your skin nourished and protected from the elements. It also soothes sensitive and irritated skin. The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acids in Shea butter make it incredibly nourishing and an extremely effective moisturizer. It is often used to soothe dry skin and to help protect the skin’s natural oils.
Shea Butter, extracted from the fruit’s kernels, contains 40 to 60% Oleic acid which is known for its soothing, softening properties and is composed of six principal fatty acids: palmitic, stearic, oleic, linoleic, linolenic acid and arachidic, as well as unsaponifiables such as phytosterols called sheasterols which promote healthy cellular processes and overall cell health. It also contains Cinnamic acid, and Lupeol Cinnamate which are known to enhance skin flexibility and health.

It has excellent transcutaneous absorption. Several studies have suggested that sunflower seed oil has anti-inflammatory properties and can significantly improve skin barrier function recovery.
Frequently Asked Question
How often should I use Jub – Body Butter Sugar Scrub?
It’s up to you and your skin. Jub’s Body Butter Sugar Scrub is gentle enough to use every day – but everyone’s skin is different, so listen to your skin. All of our products are formulated especially for dry to very dry and sensitive skin so they are gentle enough to use every day.
Can I keep Jub – Body Butter Sugar Scrub in the shower?
Ideally, you should try to prevent getting too much water into your scrub because those nasty little bacteria love water and will shorten the shelf life and effective usefulness of the scrub. Use the spoon to stir it up and scoop it out into your hand, and then add some water to apply to your skin. Then be sure to tightly secure the lid.
